The Joanna Briggs Institute is governed by a Committee of Management who delegates management of the Institute to the Executive Director who in turn delegates specific operational responsibility to staff. Within the current structure there are three operational areas of the Institute:
Under the direction of the Executive team, staff within these programs are responsible for their core work program but they are also responsible for teaching JBI courses; for being involved in research and consultancy work; for publishing peer reviewed journal articles; and either supervising HDR students or undertaking a higher degree.
Synthesis Science
Within this program there is an Associate Director and Research Fellows. Staff within this program are responsible for methodological development and supporting the Joanna Briggs Collaboration in their scientific work.
Translation Science
Within this program there is an Associate Director and Research Fellows. Staff within this program are responsible for oversight of content development for JBI COnNECT+ and coordination of node management and administration.
Communication Science
Within this program there is an Associate Director, Research Fellows and Communications staff. Staff within this program are responsible for running local and international events, developing internal and external communication strategies (for staff, members and the Joanna Briggs Collaboration, Cochrane Collaboration and Campbell Collaboration) and publications.
