About the centre
The Bureau d’Echange des Savoirs pour des praTiques exemplaires de soins (BEST) stems from a collaboration between a university hospital (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vaudois) and two tertiary schools in health sciences, Haute Ecole de Santé La Source (HEdS-La Source) and Haute Ecole de Santé Vaud (HESAV), of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES-SO). These institutions established the BEST in 2009 with the goal of infusing the best available evidence into the clinical and educational settings, by connecting academic and clinical practice partners. Thus, the Centre’s mission is to drive continuous improvement in quality and safety of care, through promoting evidence-based practice, generating systematic reviews and encouraging the utilisation of evidence. The BEST is surrounded and interacts with other prestigious institutions, whether academic or clinical, which could become co-partners. We also actively collaborate with European JBI centres and with an Evidence-Based Nursing network in Canada. To date, the Centre addresses issues and problems related to clinical practices from the following professional fields: Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Radiological Technology.
