NGCEBM aims to promote the concept & practice of Evidence Based Medicine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and in the GCC.

Vision of NGCEBN

Healthcare professionals and decision-makers throughout Saudi Arabia and the GCC should be informed by high quality, timely researched evidence. The NGCEBM will play a pivotal role in the production and dissemination of this evidence across all areas of healthcare.

The Establishment

The National & Gulf Center for Evidence Based Medicine (NGCEBM) is officially recognized as the Referral Center for Evidence Based Medicine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Region by the Gulf Cooperative Countries (GCC) Ministers of Health. A decree was issued in accordance with this recognition during the 57th GCC Health Ministers’ Conference held in Geneva, Switzerland on the 19th of May 2004 (Decree number 6 item 3 states that the NGCEBM is the referrence EBM Center for the GCC). NGCEBM is officially affiliated to Evidence Based Clinical Practice Group in McMaster University – Canada, this group is lead by Prof. Gordon Guyatt, the leader and one of the pioneer founder of Evidence Based Medicine all over the world. We also work in coordination and collaboration with:

• National EBM Committee

• GCC Minister of Health Executive Office

• Arabian Gulf University EBM Center (Bahrain)

• Sultan Qaboos University EBM Center (Oman)
