CONFERENCE INFORMATION

Registration Desk

The registration desk will be attended at all times including Sunday 25 November (1300-1700) for your opportunity to avoid delays first thing on Monday morning.

Business Centre

Located on the Mezzanine Level, the Business Centre offers delegates a range of business facilities including internet access, secretarial services or breakout meeting rooms. The centre is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5.00pm. Outside these hours, concierge is available to assist with any required business related services.

Notice Board

Messages may be left and collected from the notice boards adjacent to the registration desk.

Name Badges

Each delegate will receive a name badge upon registration at the Convention. The badge will be your official pass and must be worn to gain entry to all sessions, morning/afternoon teas and lunch. It would be appreciated if name badges were worn throughout the convention.

Catering

All morning and afternoon teas will be served near the exhibition area and lunches will be served in the Atrium Lounge and Riverside Terrace overlooking the beautiful Torrens River. If you have advised us of a special dietary requirement on your registration form, please make yourself known to one of the waiting staff.

Special Requirements

Every effort is made to ensure people with special needs are catered for. Should you require any specific assistance please include a notation on your registration form in the space provided to help us make your stay in Adelaide an enjoyable experience.

Mobile Phones

As a courtesy to the speakers and other delegates, it is requested that all mobile phones and pagers are switched off during program sessions and events.

Smoking Policy

The Hyatt Regency Adelaide has a ‘No Smoking’ policy within all areas of the venue.

Dress Code

The attire for the convention will be business or academic. To ensure personal comfort in rooms of varying temperature we suggest you bring a light jacket or shawl.

Car Parking

Both street and undercover parking are available within close proximity to the venue. Valet parking is available for $21.00 per day.

Child Care

Most of the major hotels have links with reputable accredited babysitting agencies and can make reservations on your behalf if given plenty of warning. Any babysitting or child care is a the delegates own expense.

Banks

Banks are open at the following times:
Monday to Thursday 9.30am – 4.00pm
Friday    9.30am – 5.00pm
Saturday and Sunday Closed

All major branches (Commonwealth, National Bank, Westpac Bank and ANZ) are located within easy walking distance of the Hyatt Regency Adelaide.

ATM’s are located in the Casino Complex, adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Adelaide.

Credit Cards

Credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, shops and restaurants. Commonly used cards include Visa, American Express, MasterCard and Diners Club.

Weather

November is Summer in Adelaide. South Australians enjoy a temperate climate that encourages outdoor living and a relaxed atmosphere with temperatures ranging from 16°C to over 30°C in summer months. However, temperatures can vary significantly, therefore it is advisable to always pack a jacket or coat for the evening and a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen during the day.

Trading hours in the city are:

Monday to Thursday 9.00am – 5.30pm
Friday 9.00am – 9.00pm
Saturday 8.30am – 5.30pm
Sunday 11.00am – 5.00pm

Most shops in Adelaide take advantage of the extended trading hours although some smaller shops and those located in the suburbs may differ slightly (eg. late night trading is on Thursday in the suburbs).

For those international guests who are interested in purchasing souvenirs, the convention venue is only a pebbles throw from Rundle Mall, Adelaide's main shopping precinct. The Mall is a shopper's paradise with over 600 retail stores. Further information available here.

Tipping

Tipping is not widespread in Australia, but if you receive excecptional service in a restaurant you may like to tip approx 10 per cent of the bill.

INTERNATIONAL INFORMATION

Visa Requirements

Non-Australian citizens (exception New Zealand residents) need a valid visa to enter and spend time in Australia. The type of visa depends on the length of stay and purpose of visit. For short-term tourist or business entry to Australia, an ETA is the recommended option, as there is no need for you to complete a visa application form. If needed, visa forms can be obtained from the Department of Immigration website.

Travel Insurance

The organising committee recommends that delegates purchase travel insurance including cover for non-refundable registration fees.

Voltage

Australia's electricity voltage is 240 volts AC. Some large hotels have power outlets at 110 volts AC, but if you're bringing 110-volt appliances into South Australia, it's advisable to bring a small 110-volt transformer and a plug conversion kit.


TRANSPORT

Buses

Adelaide provides two free services that lets you travel in modern, comfortable, air-conditioned and fully accessible buses, giving you easy access to many of Adelaide's major attractions!

The City Loop service takes you on a loop around the City, taking in the Museum, State Library, Art Gallery, Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Botanic Gardens, Rundle Street (East End), Tandanya, the Central Markets, the Hindley Street precinct and the universities. The bus connects with services for the O-Bahn, the Glenelg Tram and the Adelaide Railway Station.

The Bee Line takes you through the centre of the City via North Terrace, King William Street and Victoria Square, stopping at Rundle Mall, the Town Hall and the Central Markets. The bus connects with services for the O-Bahn, the Glenelg Tram and the Adelaide Railway Station.

Both of these services stop at the railway station, which is a pebbles throw from the Hyatt Regency Adelaide. For information and bus timetables visit Adelaide Metro.

Hotel/Airport Transfers

Adelaide Airport is located approx 6 kms from the city centre. The Skylink Airport Shuttle Bus operates between the International and Domestic Airport and the city (most major hotels), every day of the week at regular intervals. The bus is located in the Valet area on ground level, Terminal 1.
