Call for Abstracts

The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) invites you to participate in the 2009 National Australian Conference on Evidence-Based Practice, 'the perfect blend of evidence and practice' by submitting an abstract for an oral or poster presentation.

The JBI Organising Committee particularly invites abstracts related to identified conference themes but will consider all abstracts of high significance to evidence-based practice.

Day 1 of the conference will focus on evidence-based clinical leadership in the Aged Care sector.

Day 2 & 3 of the conference will focus on evidence based clinical leadership in the fields of:

  • Acute care
  • Allied Health
  • Medicine
  • Physio
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Midwifery
  • Mental Health
  • Community Health
  • Diagnostic Imaging

The National Conference offers a forum for evidence-based researchers and reviewers, guideline developers, clinicians, educators, policy makers, administrators and consumers to work toward an integrated approach to improving health care using evidence-based guidelines.

Contributions to the conference should focus on practice, education, research, knowledge transfer, and policy related to one of the two conference themes:

  • Evidence-Based Clinical Leadership
  • Getting evidence into practice

The objectives of the National Conference are to:

  • Promote the exchange of knowledge related to evidence-based health care.
  • Advance the science of evidence review, transfer and utilisation.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration between consumers and health professionals from a range of disciplines.
  • Offer participants an opportunity to network as well as promote information sharing and interdisciplinary collaboration within the health care community.

Submissions will be rated on the following:

  • Overall Quality
  • Relevance to conference theme

Submission of abstracts are invited from:

  • Healthcare Consumers
  • Health Professionals
  • Researchers
  • Health Service Managers

THE ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 2 MARCH 2009.
