Benefits of Membership
Membership of The Joanna Briggs Institute offers online access to a world of evidence at the point of care. Evidence based health care relates to all the health professions - medicine, nursing and allied health - as well as health policy makers, planners and executives.
JBI Members are provided with free electronic subscriptions to a range of peer reviewed journals published by Blackwell Publishing, as well as free subscriptions to JBI journals and other publications. Access to these high quality journals and publications enhances the capacity of the staff employed or practising in Member organisations, and of Individual Members, to access current evidence to inform practice.
Corporate Membership
Corporate Members of the Joanna Briggs Institute can access JBI COnNECT, a unique web based facility that provides online resources and tools to assist patients / residents / clients, their families, health professionals, health care providers and others involved in care, to access, search, appraise, embed and utilise evidence-based information in clinical decision making processes.
All Corporate Members can:
- Access JBI COnNECT to find summarised evidence in a number of languages.
- Search for summarised evidence in a number of other databases.
- Create and print customised care bundles with Manual Builder.
- Access JBI RAPid, a program that assists users to appraise evidence.
- Implement evidence and evaluate the impact of using it on resident/client outcomes via JBI PACES and JBI COOL/POOL.
Corporate Membership is available as a 'Gold' or 'Platinum' level yearly subscription and is priced depending on the size of the member's organisation.

Individual & Student Membership
Individuals may subscribe to the Institute and this provides them with a range of services related to evidence based practice. Students may subscribe for the same services at a discounted rate.
- The supply of a personalised Best Practice Information Sheet binder.
- A copy of every Best Practice Information Sheet published during the term of membership.
- Electronic access to all JBI Best Practice Information Sheets through the Institute’s web site.
- Electronic access to International Journal of Evidence-based Health Care (formerly JBI Reports) published by Blackwell Publishing.
- Electronic access to Evidence in Health Care Reports through the Institute’s web site.
- Access to the RAPlibrary.
- A copy of each JBI Bulletin released during the term of membership.
- Although student members do not have access to the Clinical Information Service database, they may order specific electronic copies of evidence summaries for a service charge of AUS$5.50 (inclusive of GST).
