Prior to moving to Australia, Mike Musker worked as the ward manager of an intensive care unit in the largest forensic mental health hospital in the United Kingdom. Ashworth Hospital, just outside the Merseyside town of Maghull, is ten miles from the city of Liverpool. The hospital is one of three high security psychiatric hospitals, which provide care and treatment for mentally disordered patients who need a safe environment because of their dangerous, violent or criminal tendencies.
