In "contact" sports (like basketball and soccer), athletes routinely make contact with each other or inanimate objects in order to “win the game”. If they didn’t make contact, the game would not exist. Similarly, evidence-based practice has been described as a contact sport and there is a ‘chain’ of groups and individuals in the United Kingdom who are very successfully ensuring that such contact occurs.
